@trq212, who says he worked on Claude Code for more than a year, says he has left Anthropic. The announcement is his own, not a company statement, and nothing in it points to any change in Claude Code's features, pricing or availability.

His post says he loved the work, believes in Anthropic's mission and trusts his former colleagues, whom he calls "the most talented, thoughtful, competent, and earnest people I have ever met." He describes seeing Claude Code "scale larger than I ever imagined" and thanks the community on X for making it "the most fun (and sometimes stressful) job I've ever had." The tone is a warm farewell, with no hint of a dispute.

What the post says, and what it leaves out

The post gives no departure date, no reason and no next role. He says only that it is "time for a bit of a break before diving into something new." We found no Anthropic statement; the departure is his own announcement.

The news also circulated before he posted. A tracker account, Arfur Grok, posted that he "has left Anthropic" before his own post appeared, though the exact timing is unconfirmed. Our read: for anyone who saw the trending claim, his own post is the primary source, and the tracker's earlier post should be treated as a lead rather than evidence.

What changes for Claude Code users

Very little, on the evidence available. This is a personal career move, not a model, version, price or limit change. His public technical writing also remains available. In March 2026 he posted a pinned thread of everything he had written, adding that much of it would also appear on the Claude blog. Whether that happened is not something we checked.

His November 2025 posts on his X profile include a frontend-design plugin for Claude Code, a Deep Research demo for the Claude Agent SDK and prompt-based stop hooks.

Who to follow instead

His post closes with a short list for readers who want more Claude Code content: @addyosmani, @lydiahallie, @_catwu, @ClaudeDevs and @bcherny, whom he credits with having "started it all." If you followed him for Claude Code updates, these are the accounts he points to.
