An X post reports that Claude Sonnet 5 was spotted in the Google Antigravity backend, but the available evidence does not establish that the model is publicly available or officially supported there.
In a post on X, @SahilPanhotra says Sonnet 5 appeared in the Antigravity backend and suggests that Antigravity was still using Sonnet 4.6. That version comparison is part of the report, not an independently verified account of the product’s current model support. The post also makes a joking reference to Sonnet 5.5, which does not provide evidence about an actual release or supported model.
What the attached screenshot shows
The attached screenshot appears to show a forwarded request payload—the structured data sent with a request—with the model field set to claude-sonnet-5. The visible request configuration includes a maximum output setting of 24,576 tokens and a thinking configuration with thinking enabled and a budget of 16,384 tokens.
However, the corresponding response did not produce model output. The response panel shows zero output tokens, a rate_limit_error, and the message “Resource has been exhausted (e.g. check quota).” It also displays an upstream HTTP status of 429, indicating that the request was rejected because of a rate or quota limit.

The screenshot therefore shows that a request containing the value claude-sonnet-5 was present in the captured payload. It does not show a successful response from Sonnet 5, a selectable model menu, or a completed user workflow in Antigravity.
What the report does not confirm
The report does not establish an official Claude Sonnet 5 integration with Google Antigravity or show that ordinary users can access the model. It also does not identify whether the captured request came from a public production environment, an internal test, a limited-access setup, or another backend context.
The failed request is an important limitation. Because the response contains no generated output, the screenshot offers no usage example, model result, or performance evidence. A backend model value can indicate that a system recognized or attempted to route a request with that name, but it does not by itself prove that users can access the model.
Is Claude Sonnet 5 publicly available in Google Antigravity?
The available evidence does not support a definitive yes. It shows an unverified indication that claude-sonnet-5 appeared in a request payload, alongside a rate-limit failure. More evidence would be needed to establish public availability, including an official announcement, a documented model option, or a successful and reproducible user request.
The same caution applies to the statement that Antigravity was still on Sonnet 4.6. That is the poster’s reported comparison, not a verified account of the product’s current model support. Based on the available evidence, the most precise conclusion is that Claude Sonnet 5 appears in a reported backend request, while its availability and official status in Google Antigravity remain unconfirmed.
