Tibor Blaho (@btibor91) reported a 'Family Basic' subscription option in the checkout pricing configuration of ChatGPT's web app, and shared a screenshot, according to Crypto Briefing. The report says the line item has no listed price, no feature description and no confirmed number of people it would cover. It also says the option is not on OpenAI's public pricing page or help documentation.
A separate post by @Ananth7e says OpenAI is preparing family subscription plans priced from $8 to $500 a month, pointing to Blaho's screenshot. Those figures match existing individual plans, and the only family entry reported has no listed price. A third-party pricing tracker lists Go at $8 and Pro 500 at $500. A third-party guide states that as of November 2026 every consumer tier, from Free to the $500 Pro tier, is a single-person account.

Pro 500 is an existing plan. Yahoo Tech reports OpenAI announced it at DevDay, and Pasquale Pillitteri reports it first surfaced as 'Pro Max' in Codex's public code in September. Our earlier report on that leak covers the background.
